Sovereign AI infrastructure in Vietnam: on-prem document AI is now feasible

A few years ago, "AI on your own infrastructure" sounded like a privilege of large corporations. Not anymore. Vietnam has brought enterprise-grade AI supercomputers online in-country — Viettel runs a new-generation NVIDIA DGX system for domestic AI, alongside infrastructure like FPT AI Factory.

Why this matters

  • Powerful AI infrastructure in-country means businesses can run AI models without sending data to foreign services.
  • "Sovereign AI" is no longer a slogan — it has real infrastructure to rely on.
  • The cost and technical barriers to local AI keep falling.

The link to enterprise document AI

For internal documents — contracts, records, dispatches — data is often sensitive and should not be sent out. As in-country AI infrastructure grows strong enough, running AI to read and extract documents on your own systems becomes practical. This also aligns with the legal direction: see the AI Law 134/2025.
